The Stew Festival is the exaltation of one of the singular dishes of Galician cuisine. It began in 1968 with the aim of exalting and making the region known as a benchmark in the production of quality meat and excellent farm products. Over the years it has become one of the main gastronomic festivals in Galicia, managing to be declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest in 2020, the first gastronomic festival in Spain to achieve this recognition.
The Stew Festival has an extensive program of acts and activities that take place in the first quarter of the year and whose big day is celebrated with a colorful parade of floats, brass bands and comparsas and the reading of the proclamation by some celebrity.
