The south-east way - The silver way

The South-East Way is the extension of The Silver Way, Romanic road that unified Sevilla (Hispalis) and Astorga (Asturica Augusta). It was used to pilgrimage route for Andalucian and Extremaduran since the reconquest of the most of “andalusí” territory, in XIII century.
From Granja de Moreruela (Zamora) they continued to Astorga for linked to French Way or took Puebla de Sanabria detour (called Sanabrés Way for this too).
This way picks up north Portugal´s pilgrims because of enter in Galicia for south-east.
It crosses the province of Ourense and enter in the province of Pontevedra for Dozón Council in Deza´s region.
The first town that you will find in Lalin Council is Puxallos, Catasós´ parish, at 7 kilometres, where Saint Roque church is. You should cross the Asneiro river, in Pontenoufe in A Xesta parish, where Saint Bieito chapel is. You should continue to Medelo until A Estación, in Botos parish (from here, Lalin urban center is at 4,1 kilometres following PO-534 road). You should cross this road to follow the South-East Way and turn right to Baxán, Botos and O Porto direction until the EP-6001 road crosses it (Lalin is at 3,5 kilometres on the right). You should go ahead, for a paved path, and in Eirexe, in Donsión parish you can see its amazing Baroque church. Them go on for Campo and cross the “Rego das Cabirtas” to arrive to A Laxe hostel, in Bendoiro parish.
Them you should continue to N-525 and cross Vilasoa, Campo and Bendoiro de Abaixo until you see Prado. Stores, pharmacy and hotels are in there. You should continue parallel to national road until see EP- 6004. On the left, at 250 metres, Liñares´ Palace is (Heritage of Cultural Interest with free visit. Puppet Museum is here). You should follow the old road across A Borralla and them go out for a path, under de railway bridge. You should cross the Taboada´s medieval bridge to leave Lalin Council and enter in Silleda Council.
