Lalín is land of artists and Art lovers. It is obvious in its streets. A good way of crossing Lalin village is discovering its sculptures. Some of them have turned into symbols of the municipality, as the dedicated one to Loriga, the aviator, or the statue of the pork.

In 1984, the Argentine president made a state visit to Spain. After concluding his institutional obligations, he made a private visit to Galicia. He traveled to Lalín to pay tribute to Aurelio Cortizo, a Galician – Argentine friend of Alfonsín who during the Argentine dictatorship welcomed him at the Centro Hijos del Partido de Lalín in Buenos Aires.
In Lalín he was received with great enthusiasm by a crowd of more than 15.000 people and named Adoptive Son of the town.
